Amayrani Rojas

She/Her/Hers
Chief of Joy

Amayrani Rojas is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, a DACA recipient, and dreams of being able to provide support for students like herself. She wants students like her to know that if they choose to go to college, they certainly can and she wants to help them search for the resources they need to get there.

Her career goal has always been to work with children, to provide support for children and their families. Initially, she wanted to become a pediatrician, however, Social work was the ideal career path. She’s always wanted to focus on the emotional well-being of children. Education slowly began to be more pertinent as she completed her practicum credentials at an elementary school. After graduating college, She worked at after-school programs and summer camps. She was then introduced to MoW, a non-profit that aims to provide Montessori learning for black and brown children living in underserved communities while incorporating a social-emotional learning approach.

"I believe that in order for black and brown communities to prosper, we must create an education system that better supports students' educational and emotional needs. Our children are the future of our communities, and we must provide them with a better education and resources.  My goal is to help provide a happy, safe, and healthy environment where children can be themselves, learn about their own history, and have fun learning."
