Revolutionary and liberatory access to Montessori Education
Families cannot choose Montessori if they do not know it exists…
Families in BIPOC and low-income communities often can’t access Montessori — it’s scarce, costly, and far from their neighborhoods.
Traditional systems rarely center Black and Brown children’s joy, identity, and liberation — leaving a gap in culturally relevant, identity-affirming education.
But…Montessori on Wheels is changing that!
We meet families where they are, lowering cost and transportation barriers while honoring families as children’s first educators.
By offering hands-on exposure, MoW expands possibility: families can see it, try it, and choose it.
OUR WORK IN MOTION
How Montessori on Wheels moves with community.
Through mobile classrooms, family learning, and deep partnership, we create joyful, hands-on access to Montessori for children and families who have been pushed to the margins of traditional education.
Exposure Visits
Mobile classrooms and experiences that introduce children and families to Montessori, sparking curiosity and wonder beyond traditional school settings.
From neighborhood visits to school-based stops, Rungano offers hands-on time with Montessori materials, storytelling, and play—so families can see, feel, and imagine new possibilities for learning.
Parent & Caregiver Empowerment
Workshops and classes that honor families as children’s first educators and build confidence to carry Montessori into everyday life at home.
Caregivers explore practical strategies, storytelling, and Montessori-informed tools that reflect their cultures, languages, and hopes—making the approach truly rooted in community.
School & Community Partnerships
Collaborations with schools and community organizations to integrate Montessori practices and support educators in training.
Together with partners, Montessori on Wheels co-designs programming, professional learning, and shared experiences that center equity, relationship, and the lived realities of children and families.
Our Core Values
RESPECT FOR THE CHILD
Children are capable, curious, and full of agency. We honor each child’s pace, identity, and developmental readiness.
FAMILIES, COMMUNITY, & ANCESTORS
We honor the wisdom, culture, and lived experiences of families and ancestors. Learning is intergenerational, communal, and grounded in relationships.
SENSORY-BASED LEARNING
Hands-on, movement-based experiences support deep understanding and engagement. Children learn through all their senses.
EQUITY & LIBERATION
Our work is rooted in justice, self-determination, and joyful liberation for Black and Brown children, families, and communities.
JOYOUSNESS
Joy is a foundational condition for learning, belonging, and creative expression. We celebrate children's joy and creativity as the heartbeat of our work.
